Method triangulation

Method triangulation is a combination of different methods for analysing a problem. Often qualitative forms of analysis are used, such as in-depth interview and focus groups, when conducting feasibility studies on a subject area to ensure that all relevant issues are addressed.

A qualitative preliminary study can thus form the basis for a later quantitative study (method triangulation).

Combination studies can give you a solid basis for decision making

  • Qualitative forms of analysis can also be used to great effect as an extension of quantitative studies if you want to delve deeper into specific topics/issues uncovered quantitatively.
  • Combining methods will often result in a very thorough analysis and provide you with the qualified insights you need to make informed decisions.
